Week Seven | Light Project

moody cat lamp. starting with a public .obj of a geometric cat designed by Google and available at poly.google.com, i adjusted the image in Fusion 360 Slicer to create the template to cut and fold vellum into a cat-shaped paper lantern. i used the laser to cut and dash precise measurements on the vellum and assembled the lantern by hand with glue. the light source is an ikea smart LED with remote to controls the colors and brightness of the light source, while also operating as an additional touch switch to power the lamp. the project is for my Light & Interactivity class, where the assignment was to create lighting for a chosen space in the school - I chose a reading/phone room to create an alternative ambience. #lightandinteractivity #itp #nyutisch #light #cat #design #mood #ikeahacks #geometricart #ledlights #ambiance #decor #lightingdesign
